But upon closer inspection, the true significance of this memorial reveals itself: to commemorate the many victims claimed by war and tyranny in so many places. Thus, they remain significant today as a constant reminder to maintain peace—despite the significant time gap between those days and the present, these memorials lose none of their relevance.
