The food here is amazing, but be aware that the only way out is uphill - so don't abuse it.

I always make time to pop in on my walks in this area as it is wonderfully calming and peaceful. I like to just sit and marvel at the talent of the architecture.

The Anchor Inn at Seatown is a multi-award winning pub located right on the Jurassic Coast overlooking Seatown Beach. St Mary’s church Hemyock appeared on the show”Blind Date” in 2008 The church can be traced back to 1120 and Hemyock castle adjacent was a focal point of clashes during the civil war fought between Cromwell and his parliamentarians (Roundheads) and the the royalists under the King Charles 1.

Steeped in civil war history Hemyock castle the battlefield for Cromwell parliamentarians and royalists. Open on bank holidays between Easter and september £1 entry fee….worth a visit😀

Dillington House was built originally in the 16th century, but re-built in the 19th century. Recently, Dillington House was used by Somerset Council as an event venue and a place to run adult education courses. However the council has stopped this as of September 2023.

Stop and enjoy the piglets

Still milling flour today, this beautiful mill is well worth taking five minutes to listen to the water. You might even be lucky enough to spot the local otter!

Now run as a museum and a working flour mill. The current building dates back to 1650 but there has been a mill here since at least 1016. Open seasonally so call 01258 471 878 to check. March to Sep open Mon, Thurs, Sat and Sun from 11:00 - 17:00.

The Town Mill Bakery is brilliant! The eat in or take away breakfast, brunch, lunch or cakes are amazing, and the coffee and tea options are great. It's a really fun communal atmosphere with huge tables to share and well-cooked food. Open 8:30 - 15:00 but closed Tue and Wed.
