Lovely house and grounds to wonder pre/post walk or both. Great facilities with two places to eat and drink. National Trust members can gain access for free. Peak times and seasonal interests can be very busy.

Hurstbourne Tarrant is a pretty little village located in the Bourne Valley in North Hampshire. The village is bursting at the seams with gorgeous thatched-roof chocolate box cottages and rural charm. Check out the local cafe, The Tea Cosy, or the local pub, George & Dragon Inn.

Doles Wood is a beautiful woodland situated nearby to the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant in Hampshire that offers a peaceful and scenic area for a stroll.

This part of the Test Way passes around the edge of the Broadlands Estate, with glimpses of the Palladian mansion. The Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma reside here. This part of the Test Way can get waterlogged, particularly in winter! The whole Test Way is a 44 mile walk, from Inkben Beacon to Eling

Ampfield Woods is approximately 381 hectares and managed by the Forestry Commission. The wood is a mix of ancient woodland and a plantation. This is a lovely peaceful place for a walk in the woods.

Lower Test Nature Reserve is a mixed habitat of floodplain meadows, marshes and reedbeds, home to a diverse range of animal, plant and insect species. Crossing the marshes via the boardwalk, keep an eye and ear out for birds, including a number of different warblers. The summer months also bring an abundance of wildflowers.
