The route was closed from approximately 2021 to 2023 due to high risk of rockfall – reopened in 2024 (information from the Ischl Tourist Information Center). The downhill path requires caution, as there are large, loose stones and rough, solid ground. A fall into the ditch can have serious consequences.

At the beginning of the descent into the Rettenbachtal or shortly before arriving at the Blaa Alm there is this unobstructed view of the north side of the Loser massif

The Ritzinger Hut is an absolute must if you're hiking on the Dachstein. It's a cozy, very clean alpine hut with a very friendly owner (Marianne Gruber). Very cozy, far from any stress of civilization. No internet, no TV, no telephone, but lush meadows, absolute peace and quiet. Bikers welcome, whether for a rest or to spend the night. It's advisable to register early, as there aren't many sleeping spaces. E-bike charging isn't possible, but you'll have to organize that beforehand or for afterward.

When the weather is nice, early in the morning it is simply the most beautiful 🌞

We used the boat on the Berge Seen Trail (6th and last stage) and used the time saved to go swimming.
