If you go to the Lofoten, don't miss it. Although touristy, but - when we were there - less busy than Reine, 20 km further north.

The town now lives mainly from tourism in the summer months. The two museums located there make an important contribution to the presentation of culture in Lofoten. Å is primarily a fishing village museum and consists of 23 buildings that are 150 years old and still in their original location. These include several rorbuer, boathouses, a smithy and a bakery as well as a blubbering plant. There is a bakery "Bakeriet på Å" and it is known for its extremely delicious cinnamon buns. They are not cheap, but they are really very tasty.
