The Gravberget region is most famous for the striking architecture of its church. Said to be reminiscent of a great spruce tree, the building was designed by architect Magnus Poulsson and was completed in 1955. The Finnskogleden long-distance trail passes through Gravberget.

This is a lovely lakeside picnic spot by Halsjøen on the Norwegian side of the border. It's a region that has seen many hamlets swell in population and then fade away again due to work in the forests declining. These days, it's a wonderfully peaceful place to explore.

At the southern end of Halsjøen, Haldammen features on the Finnskogleden. There's accommodation at Nervang farm, near Gravberget. If you arrange it in advance, someone from the farm will come and collect you from here, saving your legs the final trudge to Gravberget. Elgklinta rises to 635 metres (2,083 ft) on the border between Norway and Sweden. The summit is the highest point on the Finnskogleden long-distance trail. It's marked by a cairn as a border marker, known as Riksrøysa in Norwegian and Riksrösen in Swedish. From the top you'll be rewarded to a superb panorama across Finnskogen.

Beautiful approx. 35 km on a gravel road completely in the forest, without settlements, only a few holiday homes are there. Sensational!
