ホーニンダルのおすすめウォーキング＆ハイキングルート

Hornindalssætra is the name of this idyllic place in the valley called Sæterdalen. The small houses with their grass-covered roofs are particularly charming. With the high peaks in the background, they make perfect photo motifs.

Right next to the old stone bridge is a large rest area with toilets, a kiosk, picnic benches, and information boards. You can park your car here if you want to hike to the summit of Hornindalsrokken, for example. The striking peak can already be seen from the parking lot, but it is still a long way off!

After a long climb, you have reached the summit of Hornindalsrokken, one of the main peaks of the Sunnmøre Alps, at an altitude of 1,527 meters. Enjoy the fantastic view from up here, but be careful of the terrain, as there is a steep drop on one side!

Here the view offers a commanding perspective over the entire region. You observe the clustered Stryn town center nestled below, surrounded by the wide expanse of the Nordfjord and its connected lakes. The scenery is dominated by a majestic backdrop of distant, snow-dusted peaks and the visible white mass of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier.

Gryta summit, at 1032 meters above Stryn, is a highly popular hike known for its spectacular panoramic views. From the top, you can see Stryn town center, several mountain peaks, parts of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, and the vast Hornindalsvatnet and Nordfjord lakes. The main path is a well-trodden, family-friendly route, starting with a steep incline before leveling off to a more gentle ascent toward the summit's impressive vista point.

The outward journey wasn't to our liking. 🤷 At least 2 km of road, and then the rest of the way was a wide gravel path to the lake. The return journey was a bit more varied. The view was very beautiful. 🤓
