Sogndalstrand Historic Village is a uniquely preserved cultural heritage site and former outport. It is distinguished by its cluster of beautifully maintained 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses nestled right along the river and the sea, making it the only village in Norway to be officially protected as a cultural monument. This charming area now functions as a vibrant center with accommodations, dining, and shops, offering you a picturesque glimpse into coastal life of a bygone era.

Cycling in a class of its own. A separate tunnel for pedestrians and cyclists.

The EV1 section is definitely recommended. No cars, etc., great asphalt, perfect for road bikes with heavy luggage.

A tunnel next to the tunnel. There are actually barbecue facilities here with tables and benches.

Bring your hammocks and stay the night in the old road tunnel (mounting points are already there). You have a great view of the Jøssingfjord and stay safe from the cars that use the new tunnel beside.

From here you can see the two small houses that have stood under the giant rock Helleren since the 19th century, which offers them protection. The two houses are now owned by the Dalane Folkemuseum and can be visited. They are open every day of the year.

After a long climb, you can look forward to a nice asphalted descent on this section. The route leads through unique landscape with a lot of untouched nature.

Great opportunity to rest. After consultation with the residents it is also possible to camp here for one night for free. There is a freely accessible toilet, trash can and benches.
