The first thing you notice on the way up is the memorial plaque. If you continue along the rock, you will reach a metal ladder. This and another one take you up to the rock and you have a great view in two directions. It is very worthwhile and the climb is easy to manage thanks to the handrail. In addition to the Grafenfels, you should also visit the nearby Fleckstein. There you will find a rock gate and impressive overhangs.
