At 1,883 meters, Gaustatoppen is the highest mountain in the Telemark province. On a clear day, the summit offers impressive panoramic views of up to one-sixth of Norway. You can either hike to the summit or take the Gaustatoppen funicular, a convenient ride through the mountain's interior. The Gaustatoppen Tourist Inn awaits you at the summit. Not only can you stay overnight here, but you can also refuel with delicious waffles that taste simply delicious with such a breathtaking view! 😋😋

The path up here still has snowy sections even in June (the time of the climb is early June 2025). Higher-cut boots are recommended to protect your feet from getting wet.

Even the climb here is worthwhile for those who don't want to hike to the top, perhaps because they're hiking with children or something similar. The view is spectacular. From here, it's still quite a climb to the summit.
