In this hilly and lake-filled area near Fyresdal, there are loads of hiking trails criss-crossing the gorgeous landscape. Here, for example, you can follow the lake shore and enjoy amazing views of the small lake and the densely vegetated but still scenic landscape. Øvre Birtedalen is the nearest village, about three kilometres east of you. There are many holiday homes there, as well as the nearest paved road. Taxis can be ordered from Fyredalen to take you there.

Nutevasshytta is a small self-catering hut belonging to the DNT, the Norwegian Trekking Association. It has a total of 20 beds, eight of which are in the main hut and the remaining twelve in the annex. In addition to a kitchen, you will find a grocery store, books and a canoe with life jackets. There is no mobile phone reception at the hut itself, but there is reception 200 metres west on the hill of Bjørnnuten.
