The former hospital ship of the cod fleet is now a museum ship. The entrance fee of €5 per person is absolutely reasonable. For that, you get to see a lot of interesting things. The tour provides a very thorough explanation of life and technology on board. An audio guide is available as a helpful supplement. Much of the interior is still preserved. Absolutely worth seeing.

The former hospital ship is now a museum. The entrance fee (5 euros per person, September 2025) is well worth it. For that, you can walk through the entire ship and get a good impression of the conditions and technology of the time.

From the bridge, you have a good view of the Lima River and the city of Viana. However, the pedestrian lane (only the one downstream is open) is very narrow and not really designed for two-way traffic. In Eiffel's time, the entire upper bridge was probably intended for pedestrians and oxcarts. The railway runs one level below: https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponte_Eiffel

Known for their hot waters and therapeutic properties, the waters emerge at a temperature of around 77ºC, although the thermal pools are regulated to offer bathing at more comfortable temperatures, around 40ºC. These hot springs are rich in minerals such as sodium, calcium and bicarbonate, and are believed to help in the treatment of rheumatic and skin conditions.

The curious thing about Aceredo is that, in years of drought, the water level of the reservoir drops enough to reveal the ruins of the village. It is possible to walk through its old streets and observe the houses, the old mill, and other remains of what was once an active rural community. Images of the emerged village have attracted both tourists and curious people, creating an almost surreal atmosphere, as the remains remain frozen in time.

The ex-libris of Ponte de Lima, which together with the river that bathes the town, gave the town its name, is its bridge. As regards the medieval part, although we can go back in time, at least to the reigns of D. Pedro I and D. Dinis, taking into account documentation that mentions a bridge, which could also, at that time, be made of wood, we know of its existence during the reign of D. Manuel I, more precisely in 1504, because this monarch had new paving was ordered and merlons were installed to decorate the bridge, as they were no longer justified as a defensive and military option.
