The history of St. Anne's Chapel dates back to the Middle Ages. However, it was destroyed in the fourth quarter of the 16th century. A new, wooden chapel was built in 1604. This was replaced by a stone chapel in 1639. In 1670, the chapel was enlarged, and around 1700, a complete reconstruction probably followed, which also included the creation of the Baroque façade. Grimbergen Abbey was likely involved in this construction phase, as the coat of arms of the then abbot of this abbey was incorporated into the façade. In 1721-1722, a new altar and rood screen were installed, among other things. The chapel was enlarged in 1782. The current altar dates from the third quarter of the 18th century and incorporates Rococo elements. Several repairs were carried out during the 19th and 20th centuries.
