水上自転車道は、長さ212メートル、幅3メートルのコンクリート道で、両側には目の高さの水面が広がっています。白鳥やその他の水鳥が岸辺を泳ぎ、サイクリストを好奇心を持って眺めています。オープン以来、このユニークな自転車道への関心は非常に高まっています。平均して1日あたり800人の訪問者がリンブルフの自転車ネットワークのこの忘れられない部分を探索しており、土曜日と日曜日のピーク時には、一部の日には5,000人ものサイクリストが訪れます。

Beautiful nature reserve. Be sure to bring your binoculars so you can spot everything here. Also bring a sun hat and sunscreen because there are many open areas.

The cycle path leads you straight through a pond, all the way from one bank to the other. In the middle, the water is at eye level on either side. You feel, see and smell the water. A beautiful and unique view of this piece of nature. When you watch from a distance, it is funny to see all those heads passing by on the surface of the water. Climb the adjacent slag heap along the north side and descend via the south side 🤭. Not suitable for children, weak leg muscles and fear of heights. For adventurous people. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear.

From the slag heap you have a view over this waterhole, and a passage along it also adds to its appeal...

The observation tower was designed by the Ghent-based architectural firm Architecten Delobelle. It is situated in the wooded edge of one of the ponds and offers a view of the hundreds of ponds in the surrounding area. To minimize the impact on the natural environment, they used natural materials, colors, and hues that integrate seamlessly with the green surroundings. In the nature reserve, the observation tower constantly appears in a changing form, with the galvanized steel, wood, and thatch blending seamlessly into the surroundings. The fish, the icon of the Wijers, served as inspiration for the tower.
