The church is unique in a sense that it's the only one in Armenia where the army was blessed while sitting on their horses, hence the three high arches. Possibly for that reason too, the church has an open structure unlike other Armenian churches.

High on a really big hill between and deep valleys with great views in all directions. Impressive ruins in a large fortress in an almost impregnable location.
