The port of Dangast is primarily used by recreational boaters, but the small passenger ship Jantje v. Dangast is based here.

Varel Harbor is located on the southern Jade Bay. The fairway leads from the German Bight across the Inner Jade and through the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park to the Varel Deep. This channel is marked with "Pricken" (prickles) and is only navigable at appropriate water levels.

Salt marshes are herbaceous coastal habitats located between mudflats and dikes and are characterized by regular flooding with saline water.

Dangast Harbor exudes a special spirit. Alongside the sheet pile wall, you can hear the gurgling of the shallow waves and the typical North Sea bleating of the dike sheep. The small water gauge house offers a particularly lovely spot to relax. From here, you can also watch the sale of fresh pomegranate – straight from the cutter. Or you can wave cheerfully to the passengers of the "Jantje von Dangast." The ship offers tours to Wilhelmshaven almost daily in the summer. A delicious fish sandwich from the "Fischturm" (Fish Tower) is a must, of course!

Many canal-side cycle paths can be somewhat monotonous; this is not the case with the Ems-Jade Canal. It is interesting, as it offers a lot of variety for the eye.

Beautiful route through a beautiful nature reserve, there is also a viewing platform from which you have a nice overview.
