Beautiful picnic spot under some veteran trees.

Super cool climbing tree!

This wooden boardwalk, which turns into a bridge, takes you safely to the other side of the water without getting your feet wet. The combination of the flowing water in the green forests offers a beautiful walking decor.

The view over the Bois de Harre valley is breathtaking, with green hills and dense forests stretching as far as the eye can see. From the viewpoint you have a beautiful panorama of the peaceful, unspoilt nature and the winding paths that meander through the landscape.

On the edge of Eveux is a pleasant picnic spot, surrounded by greenery and with a view of the surrounding area. This quiet spot offers an ideal stop to relax and enjoy nature.

Interesting family spot

You start at the “Bois de Tave” until you reach the farm where the asphalt ends and you enter the forests of Mignonfa. You can also start the walk at the church of Amonines with ample parking. When leaving the forest you will see the village with the church tower of Amonines as you descend. A little further on you can relax at the picnic area with some toys. After this you reach the village of Amonines at an altitude of 317 m. The origins of this village can be traced back to the creation of several forges in the surrounding forests and swamps. You pass the Philippin retirement home. This was founded in 1869 by Miss Caroline Philippin. After her death, she donated most of her belongings to the retirement home. The oldest part of the building is hidden in the middle of new constructions. A little further on there is a monument in honor of the 3rd Armored division Spearhead where PFC Willie L. Elam from Texas and TSGT Elmer C. Scherrer from Colorado are commemorated. Just a little more climbing and you reach the “Croix Henquin” at an altitude of 375m. A little further you enter the forest of the “Fond des Malades”. You are here on the border with Soy. In 1600 the plague raged in the region. A leper hospital was established at this location to care for those affected from the surrounding villages and to keep them separate from the population. The founder was a “douary” from Soy. At the end it is not noticeable, but you are indeed walking on a Roman highway.
