In addition to the animals, there is also a fantastic view of the mountains here. Roughly from the Upper Allgäu mountains to the left over the Zugspitze with the Austrian Ausserfern and the Eastern Allgäu mountains.

It goes uphill in both directions, although the climb to Grönenbach is steep and long at times. It is nicer from Grönenbach to the bridge and further to Legau, Leutkirch or Illerbeuren with the museum and the Grömerhof inn.

The lounger was tempting but we had nothing warm to drink in the 12°C heat.

The descent is passable, only southwest of the Brandholz hamlet the path has slipped to a width of 10 m. You can still get across there on foot, but you have to carry your bike.
