the closing of the ring has a challenging part, with some slightly dangerous parts and others not marked, at least as far as the route that the navigator makes you do is concerned

The Vallestrina bivouac is a spartan bivouac located in the shadow of the Alp of the same name. Spartan in appearance, but not in content. Inside we can find: stove, table with chairs and bench, chopped wood, bunk bed with three seats and above all electric light provided by a photovoltaic panel. Outside: mega table and barbecue. Going up the stream, there is a source about 100 meters away. The password is always the same: RESPECT!

The Tambura pass is located at 1630 meters above sea level right at the foot of Mount Focoletta. A little further on, facing another short but intense climb, you reach two marble quarries: the first is the old one, the second is the new one still in operation.

Once you reach the pass, climbing to the top is almost a reward. The second peak of the Apuan Alps dominates the surrounding panorama at 360° and offers a truly breathtaking view.

8月 5, 2023, Pizzo d'Uccello Summit
Pizzo d'Uccello (1,781 m a.s.l.) is called the Matterhorn of the Apuan Alps due to its shape that resembles a pyramid and the fact that its rock conformation resembles that of the Alpine mountains. Its north face, vertical for almost 800 meters, is impressive! It is not the highest peak of the Apuan Alps and yet it is climbed by many who try their hand at the ascent along the normal route which is a sort of mountaineer's baptism, although it is not excessively difficult it does have some challenging passages.

In addition to the breathtaking views and interesting paths to follow, the Tambura pass also has a particular history. Between 1738 and 1751, the Duke of Modena requested the construction of a road from his residence to his property near the Tyrrhenian Sea. Due to political complications, the road had to be built on the nobleman's property, which forced his engineer, Domenico Vandelli, to build it across the saddle of the Tambura pass. Unfortunately, the slopes on both sides are very steep, which made it necessary to use all his engineering knowledge to construct the endless hairpin bends that cross the pass. Today the route is only suitable for those walking or cycling. Nearby Mount Tambura is one of the largest mountains in the Apuan Alps, easily visible from afar.

we are on the highest peak of the Tuscan Apennines. Easy, although quite long, from the profecchia hut.

Monte Prado, or Prato, (2054m a.s.l.) is located on the major watershed of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, halfway between Passo Pradarena and Passo Radici. This area has been included in the Parco dell'Alto Appennino Reggíano (Parco del Gigante) since 1988, due to its high naturalistic value. The local climate is poorly documented. The average annual temperature is around 5'C and the average rainfall is around 200Omrn. Precipitation is mostly snow and occurs between November and April, while the snow melts from May until the beginning of summer, depending on the differences in topography and exposure. Monte Prado is the highest mountain in Tuscany. It offers a wonderful view over all the Apuan Alps. Reaching it by MTB is only possible with an hour of portage from the Focerella pass followed by a long descent on the ridge towards Monte Vecchio and Monte Cella.
