Rimburg Castle is a moated castle with a history dating back to the 12th century, likely built on the remains of a Roman roadside post. Over the centuries, the complex has been rebuilt several times, particularly in the 19th century in the Baroque style, and has seen changing owners. During the Napoleonic Wars and World War II, the castle was damaged but was largely preserved and repaired.

A great photo opportunity at any time of year.

The Putberg climb via the Daelsweg is a real insider tip for cyclists who love South Limburg 🚴‍♂️. Located in the Voerendaal region, near Heerlen, it offers a beautiful blend of nature, history, and athletic challenge. 📈 Climb profile Length: approx. 2.15 km Elevation gain: around 73 m Average gradient: about 3.4% Steepest section (300 m): up to 6.1% 🛣️ Route The starting point is usually in Heerlen, via the Daelsweg and Dalstraat streets.
