Watch out for ticks... last year's experience

quiet walk from the departure of the Piani d'Ernia cable car. Beautiful refuge with the possibility of climbing the Resegone

The refuge is one of my favorites, the food is excellent and at the right price, the staff is kind and welcoming, the view is beautiful and the route does not present particular difficulties even in the winter period.

The Rifugio Luigi Azzoni, located on the summit of Resegone, is a point of reference for hikers in the area. The panoramic view from its position is unparalleled, ranging from the Orobie Prealps to the plain. Open all year on weekends and every day in summer, it offers food and overnight accommodation.

Welcoming refuge managed by the "No Profit" association of Mato Grosso, which donates the proceeds of the management to a high altitude hospital (3,500m) in Peru and to other philanthropic/charitable initiatives. It offers an excellent refreshment service, served with great friendliness and familiarity, with the opportunity to choose between various courses. It is equipped with several dozen beds, a kitchen and a large dining room, as well as various outdoor tables, usable in favorable weather. For those who can afford it, a voluntary contribution for the aforementioned philanthropic purposes will certainly be appreciated and accepted by the volunteer and free staff who manage the refuge.

Refuge with excellent views of the lake and the Larian triangle. Excellent stop for refreshment during the climbs of Resegone or Magnodeno.

Moderately challenging walk with a beautiful view of Lake Lecco. Being local, I love starting from the city center going up the steps of the suggestive church of Our Lady of Lourdes, passing through the alleys of the town of Malnago. From the cable car car park, reach Costa where it is a must to make a short stop at the votive chapel, if only to catch your breath while admiring the wonderful panorama, and then go up to the Stoppani refuge where you can refresh and relax immersed in lush and uncontaminated nature . Definitely a nice compromise for those who want to escape from the chaos of the city and who don't even want to make too much effort....trying is believing!
