The local celebrity is Kosta, the tavern's owner. He occasionally plays a game of ouzo with the guests. No one leaves here without a homemade ouzo. A pure culinary experience.

The honey from this area is one of the best and highest quality in the world.

Located a little way away from the actual marble beach at a small harbor, the season is already over here at the end of September, but the peace is occasionally disturbed by the chained dogs.

The Athanasios Chapel, which is illuminated every year on January 18th for the patron saint's day, is a highlight of the village. The Feast of Agios Athanasios is celebrated around the church, an event that enlivens the otherwise quiet atmosphere of the village and attracts numerous visitors.

Kastro is located in the center of the island of Thasos, on a high plateau (470–500 m above sea level) northwest of Theologos. According to the 2011 Greek census, Kastro has a population of nine.
