A splendid Renaissance square dominated by the three figures of the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and the Torrazzo, which offers a panoramic view of the entire Po Valley.

Stradivari Square

Cremona is a city in Lombardy. The Stradivarius collection at the Violin Museum bears witness to the city's cultural heritage. In Piazza del Comune there is the Cathedral of Cremona, with its Renaissance arch, the 8-sided Baptistery and the Torrazzo bell tower, characterized by an astronomical clock. The portico of the 13th-century Loggia dei Militi palace has a statue of two Hercules figures.

In Cremona in the Piazza del Comune, also known as Piazza del Duomo, there is the Cathedral (Duomo) which shows a facade with a double order of loggias, a central rose window and a Renaissance crown. A Renaissance loggia connects it to the Torrazzo which, with its 112 meters of height, is the tallest masonry bell tower in Europe. The square is completed by the Town Hall, the Loggia dei Militi and the Baptistery.

It is located a few steps from the Duomo and since 2000 it has been dedicated to Antonio Stradivari, who with his violins made Cremona famous all over the world. Important events take place in this square, on the day of our visit it hosted the preview of the Festa del Torrone, the sweet symbol of the city of Torrazzo.
