Since 1990, Scharfenstein Castle has been managed by the Treuhand and has been owned by the town of Leinefelde-Worbis since 2002.

A representative of Baroque architecture is the house "Zur Tanne" at Marktstraße 20 (built in 1689). Its rich carvings, scrollwork, and diamond-shaped crosses are particularly striking.

Just a few steps from St. Servatius Church, on Untere Marktstraße, lies a remarkable and highly acclaimed example of Duderstadt architecture. This four-story half-timbered house with a two-story dormer, characterized by Baroque elements, was built in 1698 and faces Marktstraße. The house impresses with its variety of forms, its magnificent portal, and the beautiful carvings on the street front.
