Under the Harburg, you can skip the walk through the construction site further up. However, there's a barrier in the middle of the route that spoils the fun.

Unfortunately, this beautiful path towards Breitenworbis is currently closed (July 25, 2024). The diversion is signposted, but has a barrier (!) on the descent and then actually continues on the bypass road that the cycle path should actually avoid. This is only for the fearless!🤯

A good place to stop. The selection from snacks to schnitzel or roulade is quite large. Of course you can also just have a refreshment in the form of ice cream and/or drinks.

Nice quiet road on the best asphalt

Production began in 1899, the Glückauf miners' cooperative was established in 1901, and a processing plant and power plant went into operation in 1903. In 1908, Bleicherode took on a pioneering role in backfilling exploited mining areas with sludge, but huge cavities remained, which were to be of great importance during World War II. The Bleicherode potash mines went out of operation in 1990. Parts of the tunnel systems as well as the complex for further processing of the raw materials enjoy the status of an industrial monument today .....
