The Devil's Bridge in Dronero, built in 1428 over the Maira torrent, is a remarkable example of medieval civil engineering. This bridge has three arches of different sizes and is slightly curved, with lateral parapets surmounted by swallow-tailed Ghibelline battlements. Originally, on the pillar of the smaller arch towards the centre of Dronero, there was a drawbridge, whose iron hinge was found under the road surface; this was removed in 1810 when the entrance passage was widened and the Ghibelline battlements were restored. From Colle del Prete you can continue towards the Gilba valley or, for the more adventurous, take the ridge route up to Mount Memoria, if you wish you can avoid the climb to the mountain and at the Malaura pass cut towards the path that leads to Meira Paula.

Route: leave the car in the hamlet of Rua' at 1536m, continue on the wide and flat forestry-pastoral track. Along the first stretch, you pass by some private houses used during the summer by farmers to take the cattle to the mountain pastures. The route always continues with a gentle climb on a slope facing south up to Colle del prete at 1716m., where there is a small stone chapel with an altar. From here it is possible to admire Monviso, the Varaita valley with the Pelvo d'Elva and the Gilba valley below.
