The former route of the Pforzheim–Ittersbach narrow-gauge railway, which was closed on July 10, 1968, was converted into a cycle path and paved over a 2.5-kilometer section between the western edge of Pforzheim's residential area in the Arlinger district and a former field crossing between Birkenfeld and Gräfenhausen. Here, the route passes under the viaduct of Alte Pforzheimer Straße over the former railway line. The four of us had an absolutely fantastic meal there. Both the fish and meat dishes were cooked to perfection. The starters and desserts were also very tasty. All Demeter-certified. It's not exactly cheap, but it was incredibly good.

The old railway line is very nice to travel along.

The former railway line between Pforzheim and Birkenfeld, also known as the Arlinger Railway Line, is now a popular cycling path. It stretches for approximately 16 kilometers, with approximately 3.8 kilometers of it running along the former railway line. The route is mostly paved and runs through a protected area. There are also some great views along the old route.
