The Basilica of Santa Margherita is located in the highest part of Cortona and is dedicated to the city's patron saint. Built between the 13th and 14th centuries, it houses the relics of Saint Margherita and is an important place of worship, as well as a significant example of Tuscan Gothic architecture. From the basilica and the nearby lookouts, you can enjoy a splendid view of Cortona and the Val di Chiana.

Magic nightride! Thnx for sharing this route. I started this ride anti clockwise 20.30hr in late June. Next to the great views over the lake at sunset it started to get dark when passing Liciano Niccone (So bring some good light with you) From there the last climb trough the forrest was pure magical. At both sides of the road the forest was full of fireflies. Quit some stunning experience!

Very nice ride. Lots of dirt and also very fun. Watch out for the little paths hidden by the vegetation... we did 47.4 km with about 1000 altitude difference...
