Unfortunately, the upper lake is full of rotting plants. Swimming is not recommended unless you are a frog. Unfortunately, the smell is not that great either. So I quickly left. The lake near the parking lot looks a little better. The restaurant is a nice place to stay.

The Avigliana lakes natural park is a treasure chest of biodiversity and represents a notable resource for Avigliana, both from an environmental and tourist point of view. The park is made up of three ecosystems: the two lakes, the Mareschi swamp and the moraine hills. The lakes are the only ones surviving among those formed following the last two great Pleistocene glaciations in the Susa valley. The Sacra di San Michele dominates this protected area from above, recalling that, since the year 1000, it has represented the point of reference for every person on a pilgrimage who crossed the Alps towards Rome or the Holy Land.
