dirt road that in some places requires a bit of attention if you use a racing bike with narrow tires but is still doable

The Serra d'Ivrea allows us, the inhabitants of the plain, to enjoy climbs and descents and woods, both on road bikes and mountain bikes. A truly enchanting place

It is a very suggestive and cool road in summer. I can definitely say that I have never found traffic there. Absolutely recommended...

6月 4, 2025, Salita della Serra d'Ivrea da Bollengo
Very nice climb and never too demanding, a must for the inhabitants of Ivrea and surrounding areas. Once you get almost to the top you can stop at the bar on the right, often frequented by motorcyclists and with beautiful bikes to admire in the parking lot

9月 21, 2024, Castello della Croce Serra
Private castle, not open to visitors. Point from which you can still go up, direction San Giacomo to continue towards Alpe Pinalba (big bench), or go down towards Settimo Vittone. Or take the little track towards Oropa. Without forgetting the descent more or less along the crest on the blueberry paths. A small GRA 😁

9月 15, 2024, Santuario di Graglia
dedicated to the Black Madonna and connected to the cult of Our Lady of Loreto, in the Marche. It is therefore part of that system of pre-Alpine devotional complexes that characterized a widespread popular Marian and Christian religiosity.

Beautiful climb, almost all in the woods and never too challenging; the sanctuary is a quiet place from which to enjoy the view of the plain

9月 2, 2024, Castello di Ivrea
The Castello di Ivrea, also known as the “Castello dalle rosse torri” (Castle of the Red Towers), is an impressive medieval castle that towers over the town of Ivrea in the Piedmont region. The castle was built in 1358 by order of Amedeo VI of Savoy, also known as the Conte Verde. It served as a symbol of Savoyard rule over Ivrea and Canavese, mainly for defensive purposes. It stands on a hill overlooking the town and the road to the Valle d’Aosta. The castle has four imposing round towers that characterize its structure. These towers, each 34 meters high, are located next to the cathedral and the bishop’s palace. The castle walls were once surrounded by a wide moat, and the only access was via a drawbridge. From the battlements, defenders could throw stones and boiling water at attackers. Unfortunately, the interior of the castle was completely dismantled and altered when it served as a political and criminal prison from 1700 to 1970. Once a stronghold of power and defense, the castle was transformed by time and the changing needs of society.

7月 27, 2024, Forte di Bard
In addition to many temporary exhibitions, often aimed at promoting and learning about the culture and territory of the Aosta Valley and the Alps, the Forte di Bard includes three permanent museums. 1.) On the top floor is the Museum of the Alps. Here the secrets of the mountain have been presented through a multimedia path and interactive installations. A truly worthwhile and informative museum!!! 2.) A second museum room is dedicated to the prisons of the fort, twenty-four narrow cells (1.3 x 2 meters) distributed in four areas and accessed from a gallery decorated with historical prints and paintings that tell the story of the building. 3.) Finally, the Fortress and Border Museum of the Opera Ferdinando offers a journey through the history of the Bard through a parade of historical and plastic weapons, including scale models of defensive structures and miniature armies. 7月 1, 2024, Col de Joux
The Col de Joux is a picturesque pass connecting the Ayas Valley to the central valley. The gradients to reach it, both from Saint-Vincent and from Brusson, are always manageable, but never negligible. The word Joux likely derives from a pre-Latin term meaning wooded hill. Others, however, maintain a Latin connection to the word Jugum, meaning yoke, and hence hill.
