very beautiful panoramic point

A beautiful climb to the famous Piedmontese ski resort; never prohibitive but moderately long.

This climb to Sestriere follows the same route used by the Giro d’Italia for its individual time trial in 1992, which was won by Miguel Indurain.

Despite its status as a tourist destination par excellence, it is beautiful and interesting. For us cyclists, the monument to Fausto Coppi, near the fountain marking the town center, is particularly interesting; the surrounding panorama, both architectural and mountainous, is truly beautiful. Worthy of note is the plaque that an Army captain dedicated to his horse Homer, originally buried on the Sestriere hill.

Beautiful and scenic road, watch out for traffic on weekends

The climb to Colle del Sestriere, starting from Cesana Torinese, is one of the classic climbs to reach the famous ski resort. It measures about 11 kilometers for 700 meters of altitude difference. You cycle on the SS23 state road. The route is often busy and is a classic stage finish of cycling races.

A long road that is unpaved in the upper part, connects the Chisone valley (municipality of Pramollo) to the Germanasca valley (municipality of Perrero) and the Lazzarà hill is its highest point at 1595 meters.
