The trail is accessible again. A path has been laid around the private property, although it's not yet signposted everywhere. But it's fairly easy to find.

The lake is suitable for swimming and its pure waters are a favorite destination for water sports enthusiasts such as canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing. Originally it was part of Lake Maggiore which was higher and more extensive than the current one. In remote centuries the continuous floods of the Toce river created a delta dam, the current plain of Fondotoce, which divides the two lakes. Lake Mergozzo is connected to the Maggiore by a 2.7 km canal, not navigable due to the difference in height, along which a splendid cycle path runs.

The waterfall is very beautiful, you can get there from Pescone, walking about 700/800 meters.

1 hour tour done. Certainly not an easy tour. Go up the main road. Restaurant was closed and back down the forest path where you had to watch where you walked. Didn't see a waterfall by the way. All in all I know nicer and easier routes.

The waterfront promenade invites you to linger - an ice cream or espresso tastes twice as good here. Excellent starting point for many bike tours - up to the Mottarone, Passo della Colma or a circumnavigation of the lake - there is something for everyone!

The trail leads below the alp through the forest. At the moment it is embroidered with a few steps and there are always places with some loose stones. S1 the trail is safe.
