The parish church is located on a pleasant little square.

Petrus Rutten built the Saint Stephen's Church in 1781. His name is inscribed on the brass doorknob. The church has 14 large stained-glass windows by Maastricht artist Charles Eyck. During our tour on the Molenplas premium hiking trail, we also made a detour to the small town of Stevensweert. The village, located directly on the Belgian border, was built into a fortress town by the Spanish in 1633 during the Eighty Years' War.
