A beautiful destination. An impressive tower structure with a serving tavern. A brisk ascent via the Wolfsgrube. The descent via the Vorder-Tremmel forest road makes it a circular route. Starting point: the Sachendorf parking lot. The tavern is open from May 1st to October 31st (10am - 7pm).

The striking weather-beaten larch stands on the path to the Maria Schnee pilgrimage church and offers a beautiful view of the Murtal valley. Every spring, the statue of the Virgin Mary is carried past it on the way to the Hochalm alpine pasture – a quiet place with special significance.

The complex of the Benedictine monastery in Seckau, where monks still live, is really impressive. Be sure to take a look inside the basilica. The left tower once collapsed because the onion was too heavy. There is also a high school on the abbey grounds. You can find more information at https://www.abtei-seckau.at/.
