The Schönebecker Aue rises in the Geest area of the Lange Heide at a height of about 40 meters and flows a total of 17.7 kilometers, 3.1 kilometers of which are in Bremen. After crossing the Auetal and Bremer Schweiz, it is dammed to form a pond that surrounds Schönebeck Castle and was once used to operate a water mill.
