A beautiful medieval hilltop village. A journey back to the Middle Ages amidst fine cuisine and excellent wines.

Famous gateway to enter and exit Montecarlo, Fiorentina dates back to the 16th century and is in excellent condition.

Montecarlo was founded in 1333 by the later Emperor Charles IV and named after him. It is located on a hill just 17 km from Lucca. There are no casinos or fast cars, but nice restaurants and a nice view of the plain

Nice little place on a hill with great views of the surrounding area. Several wine bars with a nice flair. Special feature is the "Teatro dei rassicurati", a small opera house, which was restored in the 1970s and offers space for about 150 people. Worth seeing is also the fortress at the entrance of the village (only open on weekends).
