The "Crown of the Bolognese Apennines": On the ridge between Monte Cupolino and Cinghio del Sermidano, six striking peaks are lined up like pearls: Cupolino, Spigolino, Corno alle Scale, Punta Sofia, the small Cinghio di Mezzogiorno, and finally the rocky Cinghio del Sermidano. Natural border between the provinces of Modena and Lucca, the path on the Apennine ridge passes here from the top of Mount Rondinaio, which reaches an altitude of 2,000 metres. From up here you have a crazy view: on one side the Garfagnana and the Apuan Alps, on the other the Tagliole valley.
