Sassinoro is a little-known village, but well worth a visit for the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. It stands on a rocky promontory at an altitude of 783 m, in the heart of the stunning Tammaro Valley.

Santa Croce del Sannio is one of the highest villages in the Benevento area, overlooking the Tammaro Valley with views that extend to the Apennines. The historic center retains its medieval layout with stone alleys, small squares, and ancient rural houses. Climbing up to this point offers a privileged view of the hilly Sannio landscape and the network of sheep tracks and pastures that characterize the area.

The Campolattaro Lake Oasis is one of the most important natural areas in Sannio, managed by the WWF and characterized by a large artificial lake surrounded by woods, pastures, and wetlands. It is an ideal habitat for wildlife observation: herons, night herons, birds of prey, and many migratory species find a resting place here during the transit seasons. The scenic viewpoints along the shore offer expansive views of the lake and the Tammaro hills.

Komoot will guide u aswell with Roadbike to that "road" for a shortcut. I really recommend you to stay on the main road. It is more hiking than biking. 25% steep climbs without any grip. There is no road!

The dam dates back to 1980 and gives rise to a 7km square lake. The waters of the basin are used for irrigation and drinking purposes.

Campolattaro Lake is an artificial lake that was formed with a dam on the Tammaro River. It is a WWF oasis, a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area due to its ecological importance and rich biodiversity.

Campolattaro is located in the valley of the Tammaro river in the province of Benevento. Among the monuments and places of interest there is the medieval castle built around a Norman tower and then modified by the Aragonese, and the Campolattaro dam, which gave rise to the Campolattaro Lake Oasis.

Morcone is located on the slopes of the Matese mountains, where you begin to climb from the Tammaro valley. The medieval village is well preserved, with narrow, winding streets made up of white stone stairways, and on the top of the hill you can see the important remains of the Norman castle.
