Overlooking Lake Ceresio, in that "Little Ancient World" described by Fogazzaro, the Marian temple stands where the miracle occurred on May 11, 1562. Its connection with Saint Charles Borromeo and the 17th-century expansions made it a treasure trove of art and faith.

On a racing bike you will have to dismount and push through the core (stairs).

A wonderful walking path, but not ideal for cycling (there are lots of walkers in good weather). The last section before Gandria consists of a long flight of stairs. Those traveling by bike usually leave their bikes at the bottom of the stairs and walk the rest of the way.

So you can go all the way around. Distance about 60 km mainly flat roads. Along beautiful, typical Italian towns.

Beautiful cycle path, very easy, mostly asphalted, well signposted, well shaded, last km to Menaggio in contact with car traffic. Recommended!!!

I recommend the complete tour of Lake Lugano by bike, leaving the car in one of the towns overlooking Ceresio you can complete the tour in between 4 and 8 hours.
