On this section of the coastal hiking trail near Sapri, we do not come across an image of the famous Copenhagen "mermaid", which was erected there in honour of the Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen (1805 to 1875); but we do see a rather pretty statue: the young lady lies on her stomach on the rock washed by the water and looks dreamily out to sea.

A successful and open space, in the lower part with bus station. Here, in Piazza San Giovanni (now in the shape of an amphitheater and hosts numerous events and theatrical performances), inaugurated on September 10, 2004, a marble stele in the shape of a triangular prism was erected in honor of the victims of the bombing, on which all the names of the victims of this accident are noted.

Francesco Martolilla was born on March 27, 1416 in Paola, a village in the province of Cosenza. From the age of 13, Francis began devoting himself to religious life by observing his fasts and abstinences. Thus began his real life as a hermit in an old family estate, and together with other monks who joined him, he founded the Order of the Minimen in 1452. After spending many years of his life in France, he died near Tours on April 2, 1507.
