橋からは港の美しい眺めが楽しめます。リューベナウはシュプレーヴァルトの主要な場所の1つであるため、ここにも観光客がたくさんいます。静けさを求める人には不向きです。

Coming from Schmogrow, this complex is located at a very interesting "junction" from which you can continue to Burg or the surrounding area.

Anyone cycling through the center of Burg will inevitably come across this striking building with its tower and dark red wooden gates. The Old Fire Station, a building dating from around 1900, stands today like a monument to a bygone era – lovingly preserved and in good condition. The ensemble of hose tower and equipment room is a reminder of how centrally and diligently fire protection was organized in the past – right in the center of town, with muscle power, horses, and a hand-held siren. For cyclists: Located directly on a quiet side street between the fairgrounds and the Spreehafen harbor. Ideal for a short break in the shade of the old oak trees. Seating is available nearby – for example, in the small park with the legendary figures. For water hikers: It can be reached on foot from the Spreehafen harbor in just a few minutes. Those who walk around the ensemble by land experience a charming side view of Burg, away from the main tourist routes.

Located in the heart of Burg's town center, just a stone's throw from the main Spree River, lies the festival grounds – a spacious, well-maintained open space that's more than just an event venue. Those passing by by bike or strolling over from the boat dock on foot will encounter a unique blend of folk architecture, modern design, and Sorbian symbolism. At the center: a striking, triangular festival hall with a glass facade – almost like a tent grown out of the Spreewald soil. Next to it, two stone fairytale figures stand guard: the "Snake King" and the "Frog King," who not only remind visitors of the region's myths but also offer children a lovely photo stop. Surroundings: plenty of seating, shade under trees, and well-tended flowerbeds – an ideal place for a break from the daily grind of paddling or cycling. For cyclists: The festival grounds are located directly on the cycle route through the town center – perfect as a meeting point or mid-stage break. For water lovers: Only about 300 meters from the Spreehafen harbor, easily accessible on foot – ideal for stretching your legs or enjoying an ice cream after paddling. Tip: If you come at the right time, you can experience one of the many Spreewald festivals here – it's loud, colorful, and truly regional. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, come in the morning. Then the place belongs to the pigeons, the wind, and its own silence.

At the edge of the fields, slightly elevated, the "Burg Bismarckturm" (Sorbian: Borkowy Bismarckowy form) stop marks another stage of the Spreewald Railway route. Formerly called "Burg Jugendturm," the station was renamed in 1951 as part of the political realignment. Today, the station commemorates not only the railway, but also Germany's turbulent history. The plaque tells the story of the stop's creation and closure, its former railway operations with waiting shelters and bicycle racks—and how a simple train station became a small window into the history of mobility. An old black-and-white snapshot shows how a steam locomotive once stopped here—at the exact spot where you might now park your bike.
