Wonderful place to take a break here.

This small rest area is located in the Neuhausen district of Igelshieb, between the bike path and the railway line. In good weather, its expansive views invite you to take a short break. It's also one of the locations accessible by ambulance. It has a number that can be used in emergencies and indicates the location to dispatch centers.

A beautiful, flat gravel path begins here, leading along the railway line to Lichtenhain. It's perfect for walking. And you can possibly take the train back.

Time for a break with a view. Here you can briefly rest your legs and let your gaze wander.

Directly on the main street you will find the birthplace of Heinrich Geißler. Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Geißle, born in Igelshieb in 1814 and died in Bonn in 1879, was a German glassblower, instrument maker and inventor of the Geissler tube, a glass low-pressure gas discharge tube, also known today as a fluorescent lamp. Today his birthplace houses a local history and technology museum.
