The Old Town Hall in Schelklingen is a half-timbered building dating from around 1450 with an arcade on Marktstraße; today it houses the town library.

Visually, it's a very beautiful spot that immediately catches the eye. The surroundings are also very beautiful and interesting.

The ruins are beautifully situated, and the view extends over the whole of Schelklingen. The tower is open every first Sunday of the month from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. between May and September. There is also a bench below the tower from which you can enjoy the view particularly well.

Here you can see how water was once pumped onto the Alb plateau. It's the first pumping station of the Alb water supply system, dating back to 1870.

On the beautifully landscaped duck island, the birds are frolicking around ready to forage. The brown trout are in the crystal-clear waters of the Aach. Here, the fauna along the natural course of the water can really be experienced.

A true insider tip are the little brothers of the famous Blautopf here in the valley on the edge of Schelklingen. Both the Achtopf and the Urspringtopf impress with their blue color, just like their "big" relative in nearby Blaubeuren. The water's name, "Topf," reflects its bowl-like shape. Karst springs are usually the end of a cave system, where a cave stream reaches the earth's surface. Whether one enjoys the bright blue of these two springs depends on external influences, as the striking blue color of the water is caused by the scattering of light from the lime-saturated spring water.
