The cable car itself is a unique sight; you stand in the basket and ascend. The view from Monte Capanne is truly magnificent; you can see not only the island of Elbe all the way to the mainland, but also Corsica and, with luck, even the northern tip of Sardinia.

It's worth a drive, you get a great view of the mountain villages of Marciana and Poggio.

From Marciana Marina up to Monte Capanne, the route is easy to walk at the beginning, but from Poggio onwards it becomes steeper and more alpine in places. So you need sturdy shoes and not, as I have often seen, flip-flops/sandals. It is a beautiful tour

An experience! However, you don't see much of the more beautiful sides of the mountain. So it's better to hike up and take the cable car down. Dogs are also transported, but they cost the same as a person: currently €15.
