Nuraghe S'Omu 'e S'Orcu, meaning "the house of the ogre," is a Nuragic complex dating back to between 1500 and 900 BC. The imposing structure comprises a central tower, a bastion with an internal courtyard and cistern, and a rampart with five towers enclosing the Nuragic village. Traces of fire and smelting slag were found in one of the towers, evidence of metallurgical activity linked to the rich copper and tin deposits in the area. It is a unique experience to ride a bicycle through a stalactite cave. The cave can be used along the entire length of a narrow, illuminated street. Back on the same way or over a small road in the east to Domusnovas.

The passage through the grotto is free of charge. The road that runs through it is closed to vehicles today but is still open to pedestrians. The grotto is accessible from two sides. My expectations were far exceeded here. Highly Recommended.

The cave is worth a visit. In the meantime no longer passable by car, which makes it all the more worth seeing. The entrance to the hike is a little hard to find and was interrupted by a cow pasture with fencing. Somehow you could have gone outside, but we did not find the way.
