Montaltino belongs to the six old farmhouses of Barletta, the foundation period is not clearly identifiable, but the first document found with a mention of Montaltino dates back to the second half of the fourteenth century. Of particular interest are the Palazzo Ducale of the Carcano family and the church of Santa Maria Annunziata, both from the 18th century.

Monte Carafa is a relief of the Murge located in the Andria area, not far from Montegrosso. Its peak is 327 m above sea level.

The Colossus of Barletta, also commonly known as Heraclitus, is a bronze statue of almost 5 meters depicting the emperor Theodosius and probably dating back to the 5th century.

Currently Montegrosso is inhabited by families of farmers. In the summer period the population, which usually stands at 190 inhabitants, tends to increase due to the large number of summer residences. Farmhouses, agritourisms and restaurants have contributed over the last few years to repopulating the village and promoting its rebirth. The patron saints are Santa Maria Assunta and Sant'Isidoro. They are venerated on August 15th, the day of the patronal feast of the village.

The Ducal Palace A valuable element of the village is the Palazzo Ducale. From the Renaissance period, it belonged to the Duke of Belgioioiso and a fresco in the building itself attests to its ownership. By the "Public compasser of the city of Andria", the fresco presents the results of the measurements taken by the customs compasses, who insert the most characteristic elements of the territory. The fresco has a non-secondary historical relevance, as it provides further confirmation of the importance of transhumance for the Murgia area and of the village of Montegrosso itself in the territorial context. The Palazzo today has two floors, but originally the structure had a single floor called the "tower".
