Couple of historic bridges over the riverbed running through Barga. Looks to be permanently dry now - a playground has been created on the river bed between the two bridges.

Old bridge will lead you to the old center of Barga. When crossing the bridge you end up in a world of time difference. On the one hand you are still in Barga 2.0, on the other you step back in medieval times.

The Santa Lucia Bridge is one of the most promising bridges in the Garfagnana and is located in the town of Castelnuovo, the main center in the area. It is a bridge for vehicles built in sandstone. Built in the fourteenth century, it has two round arches of equal width. Raffaello Raffaelli, commissioned by a worldwide oral tradition, in the "Geographical, historical, economic description of the Garfagnana", attributes the construction to Castruccio Castracani, which dates back to 1324.

This is one of the old city gates that give access to the old center.

The Municipal Theater Vittorio Alfieri, with its 510 seats, is the second largest theater in the province, after the Giglio Theater in Lucca. It was inaugurated on the evening of August 22, 1860, with La Foreigne by Vincenzo Bellini. The theater was sought after by a group of local elites, including Count Giovanni Carli and Antonio Vittoni: Count Carli himself designed the structure, probably inspired by decorative elements present in the Giglio Theater in Lucca. The building has a large atrium, a horseshoe box, three layers of 17 boxes plus a gallery. The pictorial works were created by the Castelnovese Davide Franchi.
