The town of Clusane was built around the castrum which contained, in addition to the chapel, the first nucleus of houses. Considered the "capital" of the lake of the same name, Iseo has a lively center with elegant shops, restaurants and clubs. It is very popular, especially on weekends, with numerous tourists and visitors. The buildings in the main streets are of considerable historical value. Iseo is also a strategic point for reaching Monte Isola: in the port there is in fact the docking of the boat used for transporting passengers. In the spring and autumn you can't miss a walk along the lakeside and in summer a nice refreshing swim on the well-known beach. A stone's throw from the Torbiere del Sebino, Iseo also offers convenient access to the reserve (it is necessary to have a regular ticket at the vending machines for entry).
