Lake Gaiano was once one with Lake Endine. Then, according to geologists, millennia ago the Borlezza Stream, continually excavating its bed, created a dividing rise to the east, at the level of the current Cava Cantamessa, creating the two lakes. The lake is small and particularly muddy to the east, with a large reed bed. From here, the Oneto Stream flows, flowing through the small plain before flowing into the Borlezza River at Pianico, its tributary. It is shallow and hosts several species of aquatic birds, depending on the season. A beautiful cycle/pedestrian path has been created on the southern side of the lake, along pre-existing paths, allowing visitors to safely enjoy the beauty of the area. Almost parallel to the lake, but further east and below the slopes of Monte Na, is the Valle del Freddo, separated from the lake by a small wooded ridge.

A walk here is synonymous with 360-degree well-being, offering a variety of opportunities for relaxation and physical activity. This enchanting body of water nestled among the hills of Val Cavallina, immersed in pristine nature, offers, among other things, an 18-kilometer walking trail. During a complete tour of the lake, which is entirely flat and therefore easily accessible to anyone, you can enjoy its wonders, including villages, museums, and castles.

The Tribulina dei Morti della Montagnina is a small place of worship located along the path that connects Pizzo Formico to the Rifugio Parafulmine, in Val Gandino, province of Bergamo. History and meaning: Origins: The tribulina was erected in memory of some people who died in this area, probably due to events related to the mountain. Location: It is located at about 1485 meters above sea level, along the hiking trail that crosses Forcella Larga. The Pozza dei Sette Termini is a hiking point of interest located at 1309 meters above sea level in Val Gandino, in the province of Bergamo. It can be reached via the CAI 544B trail, which starts from the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Valpiana.
