The Roman Catholic, listed branch church of St. Ägidius is located in Hagsbronn, a municipality in the town of Spalt in the Roth district (Middle Franconia, Bavaria). The building is registered as a listed building in the Bavarian Register of Historic Monuments under monument number D-5-76-147-222. Residents of the Roman Catholic faith are parishioners of St. Emmeram (Spalt) in the Großweingarten-Abenberg-Spalt-Theilenberg parish association in the Roth-Schwabach deanery of the Diocese of Eichstätt. Spalt Arrest Tower This tower is located at the top of the shield-like "old town" structure. It was built in the mid-14th century. From 1890 to 1935, it was used as a prison tower, especially for hop pickers who had committed crimes. The inmates were then transported "by train" to the Roth correctional facility. Since 1979, the tower has housed a small museum of the local history society, called "Heimatstuben," featuring remarkable rarities, particularly those related to hop cultivation.
